How are your vacation/sick days days determined? Do you get more of them if you work more?

jfahd
depends on your company policy. My company's policy, you don't get any more if you work more.

It depends on your company policy. Some companies determine sick/vacation time by multiplying a set amount times the hours you work.

Other companies have a set amount.

Did you receive a company handbook when you started your job?

Whatever
People like who you are so worried about your sick days and vacation time, spend most of your day doing nothing, sucking the life right out of your company, and co-workers, how about putting half as much effort into your job.

usually, the more time you have been employed by a company, the more days you get, but it would depend on company policy. They should have that written down in the employment agreement

usually it is accrued by how many days you work. my old job had it where you would accrue something like 2.8 sick days per 1 month worked. as you work more and more the days you get add up hence, leading to some sort of vacation.

I am sure this varies by company but most of the time you receive a set amount of hours per paycheck and it is not based on your # of hours worked during that time period. Like if you get 4 hrs a paycheck on a week you worked everyday, you should get 4 hrs on the next check even if you took a day off.

jon_360
well i think so 'cause that's the way it works where my dad works

At my place, I get one Sick day for each month I work without taking a sick day.

Vacation starts from the first year of work, 2 weeks for the first 5 years, the 3 weeks after that.

Company policy dictates sick/vacation time. Sick time where I work rolls over from year to year. You start a year with five, and if you use zero, the next year you have ten. So in that scenario, the longer you work, the more you get; providing you don't use any or only one or two. Vacation time increases according to your length of service and maxes out at four weeks where I work. Its also a use or lose policy. You either use your vacation time alloted, or lose it at the end of the year.

I don't get sick days or vacation days.

James A
At the company where i work, I get 25 vacation days per year and however many sickdays I need.
I average five vacation days and 1 or2 sickdays per year

Get your work done and quit worrying about time off.

It depends on where you work. At some places, it is predetermined and never changes. At others, after you have worked there a while, the number of days increases. At some places, you don't have either of these benefits.

It depends on the company. There is no law. I run an almond orchard where people are paid by the hour only when they work. No holiday, vacation, or sick pay.

cynthetiq
it depends on what your company does

Mine gives me 1.54 hours of each per week, when I get 5 years senority, it goes up to 1.83... I think it maxes out at 2.50
