okay pal, let's try reality 101. The only vampire is a mammal called a vampire bat. If it bites you, you will most likely contract rabies. If you fail to get medical help, then you will most likely die a very painful death. "BUT" you will "NOT" return from the grave as a blood sucking vampire person. You will "NOT" return from the grave at all. PERIOD!!!

There are no such things as the vampires of 'Buffy' and 'Lost Boy's' and 'Interview with a Vampire' etc. Sorry, but those charecters are fictional!

Real-life 'vampyres' are divided into three categories: Pranic, Psychic and Medical. Pranic vampyres feel they gain energy from drinking blood or having sex, and that without these things they will become weak. Psychic vampyres believe that social interaction is neccessary for their survival, since they 'feed' from the energies and emotions of others. These are far more common than Pranic vampyres and there is some scientific and psychological evidence that suggests there may be truth behind this. The third kind - 'Medical' vampyres - are people suffering from conditions that cause the symptoms of vampirism, and are probably what lead to the rumours of vampirism in the first place. They include Anaemia, which causes pale skin and a need for Iron (found in blood), Porphyria (which causes pale skin, an aversion to light, and the skin around the gums to recede causing the appearance of long incisor ('canine') teeth. Another (of which the name has slipped my mind) causes the sufferer to go into a death-like state whereby even a doctor could not tell they are still alive. Several hours, even days later, they wake up. Long ago, before the introduction of removing the bodily organs etc began, this meant that these people who had supposedly been dead for days rose and began walking around. This was why there was a 'wake' where the body was displayed before the funeral - it was thought that time should be allowed for the person to wake up if they were not really dead! There are also various levels of psychosis which may cause people to believe they are vampires or may make them attempt to drink blood (which probably wont work since it is a natural emetic and would simply make them vomit it back up again). All of these illnesses are genetic or owing to medical condition - you cannot 'make yourself' catch them for the sake of becoming a vampire.
