ok I understand where your coming from, well first take a look at your local area, notice how long people's grass get and yeah if it looks long, jsut go up to the door and ask if you can mow it for a few bucks. or in the winter shovel sidewalks and drives ways, did this for elderly people and mad a ton, since I'm in wisconsin. Also fall and after winter rake leaves, now its physical labor but yet, its exercise and yea your outdoors and yeah whom noes what might happen tomorrow with the world. Other then that sell off stuff you dont use anymore, dont steal or sell stuff of your parents and what not, sell stuff you actually own, I use to sell my old nes and snes games to friends. Or hey if your good at say video games, and friends have a Xbox 360, tell them that you can get them so much gamerscore for so mch money or for w/e. I do this with my friends and yeah I make 20 bucks for every 4000-5000k gamerscore,.

13 may be tough, but with parental approval, and if you are willing to keep your grades up, you should be able to find after school work in a fast food restaurant (I recommend one that will give you management training, like McDonalds), a clothing outlet, a grocery store, or a music/video store/renatal outlet.

For neighboorhood stuff, try putting a flyer up at local churches. With any luck it will minimize the number of scumbags you might run into.

13 is very very hard. When I was 13, I worked for my dad in his workshop. He rebuilds older pianos and player pianos. I also when I got a little older, was a salesman at his music Store. BUT, most do not have that advantage though.

I think that your best bet for a job would be mowing lawns or shoveling snow. Though I noticed that you do not want to do that. Lets face it, in life, to make money and to live, we need to constantly be doing what we do not want to do. And it is that way with our work.

You might be able to do jobs at neighbors or relatives like cleaning, painting, gardening or anything like that. A few months ago (I was and is now, 16), I worked a few hours to put this elderly ladies stuff (pottery and glass antiques), in boxes and move them down stairs so that the living room could be re carpeted. she paid me $50.00 to do that. that that was with my sister and my younger brother helping They also, got $50.00.

I hope that helps. Blessings,

Shawn

Offer to mow your neighbours lawns or walk their dogs. Brushing cats and dogs can also be a pain of a job, people might be glad to have someone else doing it.

Why not make yourself some flyers or pamphlets, to put in your neighbours letter boxes. If you make it seem somehow professional and fun, you might be more inclined to get offers.

On them, write your name, age, phone number and the suburb in which you live (ask permission from your parents with regards to your phone number), also mention if you have done any of this before. Maybe your parents can give you a reference :)

State that you are trying to earn some pocket money and that the fee is negotiable. People don't want to feel like they are being ripped off, but most will get joy out of helping and eager kid who takes the initiative.

Have fun and good on you for making the effort.

You could try to make something to sell... like jewelery, crafts, etc. Your friends might buy jewelery from you, or a lot of gift shops might buy your stuff to sell. I would start with just a few items, see if there is any interest before spending a whole lot of time, effort and money!

One other suggestion... you could ask around to see if anyone needs a helper for cleaning, yardwork, shopping....whatever.

Good luck making $$$ :)

I know it's hard to find a way to make money at your age. But here are a few suggestions. First, make a list of what kinds of things you enjoy doing. Then make another one of what you are good at. From these lists, try to think of how you might be able to make money doing something you really enjoy or are good at. When I was around your age, girls could make a good bit of money babysitting. I didn't like doing that either. But, until I could think of something else, I babysat to make money. After a couple of years, I found a better way. I happened to be really smart in math. And it was my favorite subject. So, I started tutoring other students struggling with math and their parents paid me well to help them. That's why I said you should look for a way to do something you like or are good at to make money. For example, say you love to swim and are a good swimmer. Parents might pay you to teach their younger children to swim. Or, you probably like doing stuff on the computer. Bet you could get some older folks in your area to pay you to teach them the basics of computers. I'm sure you can come up with a good, fun way to make money if you just think about it for a while.

try dog/cat sitting, go around the neighborhood and make flyers up for odd jobs people might need help to do like errands, or cleaning houses etc...At 13 it is a little harder but it can be done. Also ask your family..aunts, grandparents,etc..Also do you get an allowance? I wouldn't borrow anymore money from people until you know you can pay it back soon and have an income come in. Remember..don't borrow what you can't for sure pay back.

Many of these jobs are HARD WORK.
There's a reason they call it WORK and not PLAY.

If you get along well with grand parents, aunts uncles etc. and you confide in them your needs, you might start getting gifts.

Tell them
(a) you would prefer to get gifts of money than the usual stuff for birthday, christmas, etc.
(b) until such time that you know what you are going to spend money on, you plan to deposit in bank & see what kind of interest you can get

I will tell you in advance, the current interest rate sucks
but your parents, grand parents etc. will be happy to encourage you to do some bank savings.

Elderly people don't have the stamina they used to have when younger. They probably would appreciate someone helping them carry their groceries, and pay you for the service.

Hey! I'm 16 and currently make money by selling my own handmade jewelry/accessories on a forum called Soompi. I also sell my unwanted new/used stuff such as clothes, makeup, stationary, etc. on there. To purchase supplies you can go to your local art stores and buy a few findings and beads to start. Here's the link:
http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?

You can also try holding a yard/garage sale. Make sure to post flyers around (if it's legal) at least a week before your actual sale date.

My friend joined one of those programs that help them get job offers as teens, but I don't know the name of it. Do some research on local job programs for teens or ask your school counselor about them.
