I dont understand how a spouse can cheat. Exspecially if kids are involved. If I was going to cheat all I would be able to think about would be my kids, like if I had left them with someone (or my husband)I would be wondering are they sick, wonder if they wondered where I was when there daddy put them to bed, shouldnt I be there just in case they wake up scared, I just couldnt cheat.I also wouldnt be able to look my husband in the eyes knowing how much he loves me and how much that would hurt him. and I just wanted to know, people that do cheat do you think about stuff like this?

When a spouse cheats,it's seems like the first thing they say about it is: "THERE'S SOMETHING MISSING IN MY MARRIAGE". What could be missing? The person has a home,job,family,an intimate relationship,and maybe even a family dog. When people start dating,there's a magic and certain fire,that's presented. There's trust and understanding. Then once they get married,have children,and real responsibilities,they tend to keep what's bothering them bottled up inside. One person may want to talk about the problem,while the other does't want to be bothered. Now the magic,and fire you both once had,is slowly smodering. Suddenly,you have that miscommunication,and the need to sort your fellings out. This is when the other hurting spouse finds comfort in someone else,who will listen. This is how most marital affairs begin. Now that the cheating spouse has found a shoulder to cry on,he/she is less attentive to the other's needs. They slowly stop giving the children quality time,and start focusing on the person who is actually detouring them,from working out their problems at home. Infidelity is damaging to both families. Cheating spouses need to stop thinking about their own fellings,and start trying harder,to keep their families together. |

Everyone that cheats thinks they can get away with it without getting caught, some even get excited by the thought of the possibility of getting caught. Not sure why they don't think of what it will do to there kids or spouse's feelings or the way they will look at them from then on. |

People that cheat are very selfish and obviously only thinking of themselves! People also cheat because they are not happy or not satisfied with what is coming out of their marriage. I know it is a very sad thing. I dealt with this very thing as a teenager and saw all this from a teenager/young adults point of view. |

When your in a good realationship that satisfies you and more you dont cheat. but if you are in a realationship that does not satisfy your needs and desires it is very easy to go elsewhere for what you want. i am not proud to say that i have cheated but i have and in fact up until i met my fiance it was a pattern for me, meeting him changed everything. and yes you think about all that stuff but sometimes its not enought to curve the desire for what you are not getting from your spouse. i dont know if that all makes sense but basically its only easy to cheat when your not happy and crave that attention. |

I don't understand it either. When you marry someone you are doing it because you love them enough to give them your life long commitment. I just don't understand how someone can just up and leave their spouse for another person.
In some cases I can say that there may be abuse involved and the spouse is after a loving person. BUT that is probably a rare case. |

I think people who cheat cheat themselves because they don't realize that in fooling others they are fooling themselves to believe that others don't know. I think cheater don't know the value or the meaning of love and trust, or they feel there is something missing and they just assume they will not find it in what or who they have and they reach out to other people. |

Humans are sexual beings. Although, you may see it as an immoral and horrible thing, there are many people who feel the only way they can keep a certain peace in a relationship is to sexually stray. Sometimes cheating can actually strengthen a relationship.
Don't confuse this with me saying cheating is a positive thing. It's human. It happens. |

People cheat because they choose to. It is that simple. You choose to be devoted to your family. Others choose differently. You choose to think about your children and the cosequenses, others choose to think about not getting caught and the fun they will have or whatever it is they think about. Conscious or not all of our actions are decided. Most of our decisions are made by thoughts we were taught. If you were taught not to cheet than you probbaly won't. IF you were taght to cheet you probably will. If you were taught that a promise is something you don't go against than your promise to your spouse will be different than if you think a promise is just that sound and look good. Much happiness to your family. |

I can only answer from personal experience. I have a long distance relationship with my husband at this time, because of his work. It gets really lonely, and sometimes I get so tempted. I do not intend to leave my husband, but the idea of having an affair is so exciting to me. I have not cheated on him as yet, but I think I may. I don't think of consequences. I just think of how exciting it would be to do something which is forbidden or taboo. I love my husband very much. He is my rock and I treat him very well, but there is a part of me that craves the excitement of exploring the sexual chemistry that I have with other men. I hope this answers some of your questions. |
