Put KEROSIN on the area of the gum and do your best to get it out.
I have tried it out and it works, you can then wash the cloth with water and the smell will go and wash as usual. |

I always thought you should put an ice cube on it and scrape it off. |

spread some old newspaper on the iron board. That side of clothing where hewing gum is stuck should be on the paper. Then iron(hot without steam) on the back side of the cloth.it will come out. |

Put the clothing in the freezer, and when the gum is hard, scrape it off. |

Sometimes using ice on the gum and freezing it makes it easy to peel off unless it is really ground in the clothes. The colder it gets the harder it gets. |

Freeze and chip off as much as you can first. Then follow the directions on a bottle of Goo Gone that you can get at most hardware stores. Read the directions. The stuff is great. It's a citrus oil base and removes sticky stuff of all sorts. I even used it on the dried and crusted 10-year-old mounting cement that you use to affix emblems to cars, and it came out shiny smooth and clean with little effort. It also washes out of fabric easily.
Good luck |

use goo-gone, wd-40, or baby oil. not sure if any of those leave stains in clothing or not but it works. |

Put the clothing in the freezer and after it's gotten cold the gum will harden and peel off. |

rub ice over the spot until the gum is frozen or place the piece of clothing in freezer until gum is frozen then pull off. |
