i like walmart. around here it provides a major competitor for some other big stores. fortunately, they are all very close together so getting the best deals doesn't cost me a fortune in gas!! |

OMFG, walmart is what is KILLING this country!! they are putting out all the mom and pop stores who run this country. this country is run on, was run on like 85% of small business. we're headed for a monopoly b/c people like you who want it cheaper don't realize the power and control you'll be givign them in a few years where there is no competition. they are the worst thing!! i boycott them and you should too. i know its hard to pay a little more for something b/c if you keep giving your money to the big guys, ie walmark, bank of america, chase, olive garden, etc, etc then all the small shops will be eliminated permanently, which is the SOLE foundation of this country's business economy!
once there are no more small businesses left, do you think WALMART WON'T RAISE THEIR PRICES (their suppliers will have to as well). do you like what the ecomony looks like right NOW?! right now!?!? NOOOOOOOOOO! that should tell you something about those big stores. look it up!!
you say they give lots of jobs, but they are costing EACH STATE (i only know Connecticuts figures cuz i live here) an avg of $2.5 BILLION (yes BILLION) in the state medical budget b/c they won't pay their employees MEDICAL INSURANCE!!!
i support the small stores that make this country GREAT, not walmart that is destroying this country! |

I love Wal-Mart although it is white trash central! I've never been to one that didn't seem to bring all the "winners" out. It's great they have almost anything you could ever want at great prices, and you can go in a pair of sweats, with sandals and socks if you want. |

They use their monopolistic power to bully their suppliers into cheaper prices after awarding them a contract. This has put many companies out of business. As far as providing jobs? They pay the cheapest labor rates and no benefits. The only people that can afford to work there are high school students, welfare candidates, and senior citizens. Sure their stuff is cheap, but I still have to fight for a parking spot, and once I'm in the store, I have fight other shoppers. Once, during a sale, a woman yanked a item from my cart and ran off. Is Walmart cool? I don't think so and I will avoid them unless there are no other alternatives. I'll even pay more to shop somewhere else.
