It can be pretty dangerous as it is possible to hit the nerve in your tongue with the piercing tool. This would permanently paralyze your tongue so if that sounds like an ok sacrifice, go for it.

Just like you have to be careful about getting your ears piecered the same thing is also in reference to the tongue except it is in the mouth. I dont think i would want to risk gettig my tongue piecred it might fall off.

Generally it should be fine but make sure you are within a sterile environment and any tools are well sterilized. We have 2 veins running through the tongue but some people have 3 so I hope the person you go to is very knowledgeable. Any type of piercing is fine as long as you take care of it but I'm telling you this one hurts and after wards the swelling is something else. Good Luck

One foul move and it can kill you. Thats how dangerous. Not to mention it HURTS, and it (mine anyway) cracked and bleed.

I have one. It's not dangerous as long as the piercer is sanitary and used new and unopened rings.

i heard there is a vain in your toung and if a needle or whd ev it is if you hit it you could bleed to death

it's not dangerous at all.The worst thing U get is a very swollen thung.But only 4 3 or 4 days so NO WORRY!!!!!!

It's not dangerous if you get it down by a professional. They know where and how to put it in. I've had mine for three years now and I've never had a problem.
