you are part time and until you are full time you will not be taken very serious no matter your argument. Although beased of the facts you gave, i agree it may be time to evaluate a raise. What i suggest is to be honest with your employer and let them know how you feel about the situation. I have always been honest and seen significant pay raises and a heightened level of trust because they know i will shoot straight with them. If you do not plan to work for this company long term i would look into other alternatives and see if any other companies will match your personal worth. just dont forget that there is more to pay raises than just time alone - you need to be a stand out employee to be taken seriously for any kind of promotion. If you clock in and out just like everyone else, why would they give you a raise? Do something to catch their attention, speak your mind and always be professional. Also NEVER talk to anyone in the office about being disgruntled - your worst nightmare might be that that person becomes your boss one day. good luck. |

I think you should schedule a brief one on one with your boss. Go over your work performance and ask him professionally for a raise. If you are truly worthy of it he should give it to you.
Tell him you have taken on more of a work load and are doing your job he shouldn't have any problems compensating you for it. |

I agree with you, sit and talk with your boss and tell him/her that since you have taken on an extra workload you feel you deserve more monetary compensation. If they don't want to give it, put out your resume! I did this but when I asked for a raise..my boss gave me $2.50 more an hour. Good luck! |

It's a low paying job, and you do everyone else's work that they do not want to do. But most likely if you do get a raise be thankful for $.25 Be happy you're not unemployed do you know how many people who'd love to work, but noone will give them the time of day? |

part time jobs usually don't get the same kind of raises full time jobs do - use your time away from work to look for a full time job - as a full time recetionships, you should probably get $10-12/hr or possibly more depending on what part of country you're in |

well do you need the money? if you do ask by saying "i would like a raise because I'm in a tight situation and really need the extra money right now" or by saying "I've been working very hard and want to ask you for a raise because the extra money would really be nice and helpful " |

You go in prepared. Begin by explaining what you do now and how you want more responsibility. Then always ask for more than you want because they will never give you your full asking amount. It also helps to have another job lined up so you can show them your willing and able to leave. |
