If you are not willing to take out a loan then the next best thing would be to go talk to your landlord and tell him your situation. Sometimes they will give you some extra time to pay the rest of your rent. You can also talk to your creditors or utilities to see if they would be willing to work with you as well. Good luck. |

Borrow from family, friends or neighbors.
Call Salvation Army for assistance or a church.
Take a small loan out from your bank ($200 or such) if you can pay it off in one month. Banks have different options.
Financial assistance for Housing Section 8 is available but that usually takes 2 months to receive. |

Prioritize your bills. Make sure you pay your rent first. If you have credit cards call the companies you deal with explain your situation, they more than likely will work with you.
For the future open a savings account just in case the same thing happens again. |

Try talking to your renter and let them know what happened. Maybe they will cut you some slack and either let you pay a different sum or give you a payment plan. In any case, let them know. If it comes down to it, and this is touchy, borrow from friends or family. |

If you got junk around the house, have a yard sale, or take some things to the flea market. Flea markets are usually better. Scrimp on other areas like groceries (you can go to food pantries many with no questions asked.) Cut back on any spending. When you tinkle use a washcloth instead of tp (you'd be amazed at how much cheaper it is to launder rather than buy tp these days. Just some cheap tips..... |

I am a property manager and I have many tenants that "come up short" around rent time. To be honest with you, we do not worry about you guys nearly as much as you usually think we do, just go to your landlord and explain the situation BEFORE the rent is due and they will mosty likely have you sign a promissory note stating when you can and will pay the rest of the monthly rental amount. Don't streess it too much hun, we are humans too and understand you a lot more than you know! :) |
