I was in your same shoes a couple of years ago.. No credit card companies would accept me and I need to build credit..My solution is I went to my bank and took out a $1,000 loan. I did need a co-signer but for just $1,000 (which I didn't even need, I said it was for repairs on my car) wasn't hard.. I made the payments on time every month for the two years.. After about a year, CC companies would accept me and I built my credit.. Good Luck! |

If you have a checking account with a good credit history, go to your bank and see if you can get a credit card through them. Usually once you get your first credit card and pay it off in full and on time, suddenly other credit card offers come to you in the mail. |

If you cant get a credit card, try doing things that looks good on your credit. I mean join Blockbuster or something, returning movies on time consistantly looks good on your credit. Research other ways like that, youll be suprised |

The way I started many years ago was to go to a finance company( I now try to avoid finance companies because their interest rates are usually higher) and ask if I could buy something in the range of $300.00 by giving them the money first and having them hold it as security while i made the payments on the contract. You can also have a co-signer,meaning someone with a good credit history who guarantees in writing to cover your debt,if you get behind. If you go to a big bank,I'll bet they have some kind of deal for helping people make their first purchase on credit by holding the money until it is paid off. |

Capital One will take you. I'm a mortgage broker so I can help you. Why are you being rejected? Do you have any kinds of medical collections. Write me with the details. |

With a nuetral credit rating you should still be able to get a low limit credit card (capital one is a good choice). The limit will probably only be $200-300, but will still raise your credit rating fast.
Use it to make a purchase every month. Something small. Fill your gas tank up, or go to a movie. Pay off the entire amount when your bill is due. Rinse and Repeat each month you can afford to do this.
Don't buy something if you can't pay the bill off in the same month, else you'll start getting finance charges which makes that $30 tank of gas a $35 tank of gas. It will add up if you do this, and you can potentially get buried by the interest if you're not careful. |

Throw 1000 into a savings account and ask for a secured loan. Pay it off over 12 months. The credit card applications should start showing up after a few months. |

buy something on credit that you could just pay cash for. Use the In-House credit, not visa or a regular card. Buy from an independent store, and use credit where you fill out a credit application and then pay it off twice as fast as the payment schedule. Then you will begin to appear in the big credit pond and could get a standard credit card. |

You can get a secured credit card. In this type of situation you send $250-$500 in for deposit in a savings account. The credit card issuer then grants you the same amount of credit. Get 1 or 2 of these cards and pay them on time. You will be well on your way to having good credit again. |

if your paying utilities on time that IS building credit. your best bet is to apply for just ONE credit card with your bank once you establish yourself a good customer with no bounced checks. then you lock the card up, stick with using your debit and not use it until you get a really good steady job. in fact you might just want to keep it and lock it up period. and stick with just ONE.

You're what's known as a "ghost" in the system - you pretty much just don't exist. They say you want 4 different types of credit to start out your credit. So...start with a secured credit card through your bank. You have a limit of like 250$, and they'll take that amount and put it in a special account so you're not a risk. Then, (when you're ready) get a loan. I bought a car and had my mom co-sign on it. After you have a little bit of credit, get a very low interest credit card from a majour credit card company.
You can also sign up for overdraft protection on your bank account. |

You must have had something bad on your credit report if you can't get a card. You should check out your free credit reports with https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp or something similar. See if there is anything not right on your report. This could be the cause of your being turned down.
You should also try for a secured credit card. |

Go buy something at a jewlery store. Finance it. Easy credit. Make the payments early. Do similar things. Takes about a year to build credit. Don't do to many and dont get a lot of cards. Each credit check counts against you and too many cards will hurt your rating. |

From what I understand the best way to start off a good line of credit is to take a small loan at the same bank you have a checking account. The banks financial advisors can definitley help you. So give your bank a call and they will gladly help you. |

Tell you what you do, I have several of these things.
You take your money, go to your back yard, lay your money out on the ground. Look it over count it, then put it on fire!!
This is about as much good as getting a credit card!
Go get one of those they have out now that you pay into it, no fee's I hear they are out now. Nothing about credit cards is good news! Really!! |

Get a secure loan from your bank, like for 100 dollars or something and pay it back right away. |
