Well I had to shred my cards but then i realized, I control the addiction to shopping. So i decided I only buy what i need and i totally worked. I just stayed away from the shelves for a while. |

to SAVE money you should have a money box you cant open, sounds lame, but it WORKS
and yeh pay off cards and dont use them!
its easier to stop spending if you have cash and can actually SEE the money disapearing :D |

Leave them at home unless you are specifically going shopping. otherwise, just keep enough cash for food (or about 40 dollars on you).
Besides, there isn't anything really VITAL that you have to buy besides food. |

-Give it to a family member and tell them to keep it or hide it.
-Since your 16, find something that interests you like sports, games etc and do it, that should stop you from thinking about spending. |

Try putting the credit cards down for a while. Pay off the debts on them too. After that, when you want something, save up the cash for the item beforehand, and then buy it with that, not on the card. That way you can only get what you can afford. |

well, try not 2 go out alot. coz when u go out alot, u will find something attractive 2 buy. especially cloth and food. another thing is, try not 2 using internet alot. especially shop online. coz the more u tough computer with an internet sevice, u will c sth cute attractive on ur eyes. so u should not go out and go onlien either. |

First of all I like to know how you got a credit card in your name. Because if you are 16. You could run up mega buck on your card and not be held responsible by law.
Now if your serious as you say the only way to do is start keeping track of where your money goes. The reason is, once your now what your spending everyday. You'll get a better handle on you money.
Credit card are nice. Never use them for emergencies. Use them to get a better deal. For example Discover Cards pay you cash back. Home depot you can make big purchases, but pay them off before interest kicks in. |

just a checking or atm account but dont keep the card so your forced to go to the bank and fill out a withdrawral slip in the event u need money so ull be forced to think about the reasons as to why u are spending it
also it will stop u from impulse buying |

Grandma says don't go shopping until you have an older companion. Only get cash and carry (i.e, take cash and don't take your cards, that way you won't overspend). |

You can't spend when you don't have so CUT UP that card. It's hard to spend when you don't have the cash or a card. |
