As an individual, being spoken to and called a chick, or being spoken about and referred to as a babe, doesn't bother me, and I don't find it offensive. I look at chick as being slang for girl, just like dude is slang for guy, and babe is an endearment by a boyfriend, or a descriptive word most of the time intended as a compliment.
But if you are using it in a term of "those chicks.. or those babes".. plural, means you think of us all the same, lumped into a group of meaningless characteristics with a shallow description. That's offensive to me, because I'm worth more than being recognized as a "pack or group" |

"Chick" or "Babe" aren't offensive if it is used in a nice way BY A FRIEND. However, I get really steamed if ANYONE calls me "Stuff"! |

Usually they don't like it too much, but it really depends on the girl. Also depends how you say it. Like if it's when she comes up you're like "Hey, babe or Whats up, chick" thats fine. But if she hears you refering to "babes" that makes you look piggish. Also better to say beautiful than hot, or just about any other way of saying she looks good. |

While I can't answer for any other woman than myself... I prefer to be called a woman than "chick" and babe is WAY to demeaning. I kinda like the term "dame" though...go figure!!!! |

It all depends on the girl and your relationship with her. I don't mind to be called a babe by a good friend or my boyfriend, but I think it might make me uncomfortable if it were someone that I did not know very well.'Chick', is a little less offensive I think. You should just be careful of who you call a 'chick' or a 'babe'. |

I say that some girls think that it is nice to say that to them but others don't, some just think that when you call them hot or cute is cool with them. |

eww. i guess it would depend on the girl and the situation be carefull with those words around women in general they can back anything up agianst if you call them any of those in which in the end you'll be called a sexes or something way more irrational. I knew a girl who broke up with a guy over him calling her Woman all the time. |

We feel horrible sometimes if were in a bad mood ( so dont piss us off then lol!) but you have to know how to use it when in front of a girl/woman. |
