Some banks will put your coins thru their coin counting machine if you have an account with them. Sovereign Banks do it for free if you have an account. The coin counting machines in the grocery stores charge a fee. I think it's something like 8 cents on the dollar. |

yeah they are still around. I seen one the other day in a store just keep lookin you'll find one. Or you can take it to the bank and cash in there. Congrats on your new BABY!!!!! |

The grocery stores take a percentage of your coins. My bank and many others have a coin machine inside. You keep it all. No percentage charged. Check with your local banks. |

you mean the coin star machines? i see them in just about every single grocery store. or you can do it the old fashioned way and take a night while watching tv and wrap them up in those paper wrappers (there's no fee!) the coinstar machines charge you a small fee, so youre not getting every cent back.. its up to you! |

You can also roll them in wrappers and take them to your bank. Safeway has the coin machines sometimes. |

Those are CoinStar machines you've seen. Yes, they're still around but they take out a percentage of your money as a convenience fee. If you have a Commerce Bank near you, they usually have machines that do it for free. If not, any other bank might take your change and give you paper money instead. |

go to a bank. The coinstar machines take like 9% of your total. Best of LucK! |

They are very scarce this days but there are many new alternates in the stores. |

yes they are still around however they are not good.
the problem with the coin star or whatever type of machine like that is that you pay for the convenience. It takes like 10 cents out of every dollar. Thats quite a bit of money to pay.
A better solution is if you belong to a credit union, you can take it there and they have free machines that will sort it out and you don't have to give up a percentage of the money.
oh and congrats on the baby!! : D |

Yes and there's a store locator at the Coinstar website. |

CAUTION! Back in the mid 90's my bank charged me $%.00 to cash in $9.00 worth of loose pennies.
Roll them up and take them to your bank.
If they are from a foreign country, forget it, no one wants them but collectors! |

I think going to the bank is cheaper... it might even be free. The places in the grocery stores charge you some kind of fee... |

They were called Coinstar and they were a ripoff, PITA. It would reject many coins, and charge an insane amount per dollar, then you would take the voucher it prints off to the customer service counter and get your cash.
I just take my hundreds in change to the bank in rolls, as many don't provide free change counting service/ machines anymore. It takes forever to count it out and be accurate with a toddler in the way. :D |
|

Are you my lobster?
 |
we have one at a local store but i guess you could just roll em up and take em to the bank... theyre not going to be very nice to you from now on because you made them count out 2 piggiebanks of change, but who cares. |
