OK, my major rule of thumb is: if you lend anyone money, NEVER expect it back. Just consider it a loss from your banking account. If someone is asking for money, they probably don't have any in the first place (thus, they are asking for some) and they probably won't ever pay you back.
At least if you accept it as a loss from the get-go, you aren't disappointed and if they DO pay you back, then it's all good! |

Or think of it this way. If you didn't like the kid, you just ensured that he'll never bother you or ask you for money again. You got off cheap. |

Ask nicely and say Do you want to do this the easy way or the hard way? and if they don't give it back...you wait until dark and jump them from behind and take it back. Maybe have a couple friends to help as backup if needed. |
