Hiccups usually go away all on their own. There might be as many "cures" for hiccups as there are families. Some popular home remedies include:

Take a deep breath and hold it as long as you can. Repeat several times.

Try rhythmic breathing or deep breathing.

Breathe into a paper bag.

Hold your breath just as you think a hiccup will occur.

Gargle.

Tense your throat muscles and/or stomach muscles as you feel a hiccup coming on.

Press hard against the cartilage behind your ear.

Plug your ears while swallowing.

Drink through a cloth or paper towel.

Bend over and drink from the opposite side of the glass.

Swallow dry bread, peanut butter, or similarly sticky substance.

Swallow a teaspoon of sugar.

Dissolve a teaspoon of sugar on your tongue.

Eat a lemon sprinkled with sugar.

Have someone scare you.

Give someone else a drink of water.

If you're still hiccupping after two days, contact your health care provider. Chronic hiccups can cause weight loss, insomnia, malnutrition, vomiting, and more. If you're bothered by long-lasting hiccups - and they aren't caused by a serious health problem - your physician can try chlorpromazine to stop them. It doesn't work every time, though.

Try rhythmic breathing or deep breathing. That has ALWAYS worked for me. I told my husband that trick recently and he looked at me like I invented the world. Which I did.

i noe i noe. just drink a cup of water or hold ur breath.

water holding your breath and all the other things that you hear work about 90 precent of the time but the real trick is to eat some peanut butter it might not work the first spoon full but the most spoonfulls you probably going to have to take is 3 and it works about 95 precent of the time.

BOO!!!! Just kidding.. I saw this work on live TV. Get a big coffee cup full of water. Have someone strike a match and dip it in the water to put it out. DONT DROP THE MATCH. Then "chug" the water ( all of it ) while taking no breathe.
