Unfortunately it does seem that getting another job is the sensible way out. She could always try taking out a grievance, but in my experience that is a risky career move. She should get out while she can and aim to cause the old misery the maximum amount of inconvenience by doing so. |

Wow, she must be one of my colleagues! Sounds like my miserable boss! I keep trying to find another job but it's not always easy. As I'm still there at the moment I just try my best not to let him know he gets to me and not let him bully me - b@$tards like that love knowing they've upset someone. Any time I've had the b@alls to stand up to him he backs right down. Total typical bully. Tell your wife to hang in there - something better will come up soon. |

There is a very good book called 'managing your boss' but from what you've said about this one it's not worth the effort.
If you really can't find another job, keep a detailed diary of his behaviour then in 2 or 3 months go for constructive dismissal and take his money. |

Sounds like he creates a miserable work week. Some bosses take their position way too extreme. I'm not sure if he can be controlled. I hope your wife finds another job. As soon as she does, I think she should complain to her former upper management. You just never know who else has complained and someone might take notice and get rid of that jerk. If he's making her miserable, I'm sure he's making everyone miserable. Is there a big turnaround in her department? |
