You shouldn't be outraged. You paid the premium for being the early adopter. This is often the case in technology...the early adopters pay a premium price. When it hits mass market, the price goes down.
I think it's because Apple's sales goals for the iPhone are well under their own internal expectations. |

There is a very good reason why I do not rush out to be the first kid on my block to own anything.
Frankly, Apple is doing exactly what businesses all over the world do, they sell their product for a high price at first, then they discount to keep their product viable in the market for as long as possible.
The same thing happens with everything. Cars (last years models can be had for a significant discount when this years models are on the way) clothes (buy your winter coat in the spring, save a ton!) garden equipment and BBQs (buy them in the fall, get a good deal) even Christmas stuff (get it at half price in Jan.) Apple is doing the same thing.
And, everyone that just had to have another phone on the day it came out, should count themselves lucky that Apple is tossing them a bone in the form of $100 credit at an apple store. |

I think that it was expected. Based on the volume of sales being higher than expected, they can produce more at a lower cost per unit. I also think the new IPOD's are using a similar screen and technology so they are probably banking on them helping bring down production cost as well. |

Because the stupid people @ Apple (no offense) didn't fix the problem The service is to week. The phones crash. The service can't handle it. So, Istead of fixing the problem, they just made the phones cheaper. Not a smart decision |

Great I just bought mine today and I love it was cheaper. besides any one who bought early can get a $100 at the Apple store in store credit. And AT&T will give anyone who bought it in the last 14 days a 200 dollar credit. |
