On going challenge her at our house. I have found out that you can't. If they don't want ot they are not going to do it no matter what. |

two ways work. 1. bribe them...all kids want something. what do your kids want? find out. 2. take away what they value when you've asked and they don't deliver...cell phone; money; video games/tv; privacy. Your home; your rules. |

I don't have kids, but if I did I would go down to the local pet store and have them all fitted for electronic shock collars. Call me cruel and unusual, but there's nothing to keep kids in line like the threat of a electrical jolt to the neck. |

Be like "if you don't clean your room, no TV tonight" or make consequences similar to that |

Let them know that there are consequences if they don't do what you ask them to. Sometimes I reward my kids when they do when I ask them to the first time. Not always though that way they will always do what I want them to and hope for a small reward. Even a thank you works for me. |

Obedient children are children who know the consequences of disobedience and do not doubt the the consequence with come swiftly.
Consequences should always be fair and fitting and should work both ways. Good consequences and bad consequences. The earlier a child is taught that this is the way life works for both children and adults, the easier it comes to them.
If your children are older and haven't learned this, then you will have to work harder to teach it to them.
We do our children a misjustice if we fail to teach them how the world works.
If we go to work and do our job, we get paid.
If they do their chores, they get paid.
If we obey the laws, we get to drive
If they obey the rules, they get to watch TV
If we save our money, we buy fun things
If they work hard at school, they get fun vacations - (No disney for a kid who won't study)
If we treat people with respect - people help us in lots of ways
If children disrespect us - they get time outs and no rides to little league.
Teach them "cause and effect" and be as consistant as possible.
It is tons of work and I suck at it - but my wife is excellent at it and I am learning from her - it has worked so far for our eight year old - but I do fear the teen years and can only hope the good start we have begun will get us thru til she's on her own.
Best of everything |

Reward them with praise and hugs when they do what you ask and withhold praise and rewards when they don't.
Think of them as little barbarians that need to be socialized. |

tell them to do what you don't want them to do. If you want them to take out the trash, say, "I want you to leave that trash there. If I see it on the curb, I'll ground you for 3 weeks." |

All in consistency. If you say do this or you will lose that privilege (or go to time out, or whatever), you must follow through with it no matter how much of an inconvenience it is for you. When my son was two, he threw a temper tantrum in a store. I had a bunch of stuff I needed to get, but since I told him if he didn't stop, we would leave, we had to leave (without finishing what I was doing). He has not done it since. He knows that whenever I tell him something, I mean it. It has been very successful for me. |

Give them punishments for not listening to you. If you do not then they will not have a reason to listen. |

I don't have kids, but I work with them all the time. I emphasize that it is for their own good, so why argue. I let them know that they will suffer my consequences and natural consequences of their poor decisions. Give them choice |

bribe them tell them they cant got to a friends house
no pocket money take things they like away till they do what you want |

it depends on how old they are. if they are 7 and under make a game out of it. every time my kids have to go to bed they whine, but when I say last one in their bed, under the covers, is a rotten egg, they haul butt. plus i am always the rotten egg and they love that. What in particular are you talking about? |

In my experience, if things are not done that are asked of them there must be a reasonable consequence ... Such as taking something away they like. This is a bit of a tough question because the right answer is very age specific. This works with younger kids but not with the older ones. |

discipline!!!! No means no, if you want them to stop fighting in the car then say :the car will stop and willnt move until you stop fighting. You must stop the car if they dont get it. |
