That depends on how you define a lot.
If you are mowing a couple lawns a week and bringing in about $100 a week in the spring and summer, you probably don't need to file this income.
If you are making thousands of dollars, you should be giving your clients a receipt and keeping a receipt for your records. If you are doing this you should form a business. |

You have to keep a record of all of the lawns you mow and receipts/cancelled checks. Then you need to fill out a 1099 for each one of your clients stating the amount of income you received from each client and submit them to the government. The government will in turn send your clients a copy of the 1099s. You also need to fill out a schedule C (profit and loss statement) in addition to your 1040. |

Just keep track of what you make (list it) and then when April comes around, fill out the appropriate forms. I don't know what the form is, but you can ask someone else who's doing lawns. Don't listen to the person who said you don't have to. |

keep track of all the wages, cash collected and checks deposited. You will report them on your tax return. You will have to pay self-employment tax through which is a lot of tax to be paid.
How much are you talking about? You only have to report wages if you are a minor above $5,350 and over 18 wages $8,750 |

you technically are supposed to, you can go online to something like turbotax.com and they can help you through it, you really wouldn't worry about it until it is time to file, next deadline is april 15 2009 |

If your getting paid cash you don't have to, its under the table, but if you choose to anyway, fill out a 1099 misc. form |
