one pair = quantity two, same kind of thing
one dozen (normal dozen) = quantity twelve
a baker's dozen = quantity thirteen
Thus there are six pair in a normal dozen
and mathematically 6 1/2 in a baker's dozen, but a 1/2 pair is not called a pair |

However, if you're talking about in a business situation how many pairs are in a dozen, that could be different. If you're in a buying situation, for stock for a store or supplies, etc. then that would depend on how many "pairs" would be considered a dozen. In that instance, you need to find out from the seller or sales rep how many actual units are meant in the terms.
