31 almost 32, thank you for asking and yes, I was happy I waited, though I did get mildly insulted hearing myself described as an "elderly prima gravida". I hardly felt elderly at that age.
What I had done was establish my career, work full-time while attending law school full-time at night and then work as an associate attorney for three plus years before having my first child. This allowed my husband and me to put back a lot of money in savings and then I quit when my son was born, and was able to be home for him and his sister. I only just went back to work last fall, and my younger, daughter whom I had at age 34, is now a HS sophomore. I get home at 4 every day. Knock on wood, but all is going well. So I have the luxury of feeling I did it right.
24 is still pretty young, I wouldn't hear the clock ticking really at all yet. |

I was 24 when I had my first child,I had my second when I was 32! I wish my two girls would have been closer together, but I'm glad I waited to have my first child at 24 instead of at a younger age!! |

I was 18 and I am glad I didn't wait because now I am still young enough to enjoy my children. My son's are 18 and 15 and I'm 36. |

I was 22.
Generally speaking I am happy with the age, I do wish that I had waited until I was in a better financial position but everything is working out okay.
There is nothing wrong with being 24 and childless. Do it when it's right for you. Not saying that this is what you are doing but I am getting so annoyed with women having children as a sign of their status, not because they want to. If a person has a child for any other reason than love and actually wanting to have one the child suffers for it. |
