Hi there Vince, First class mail is usually very reliable. However, it is not a guarantee! If what you are sending is vitally important that it gets there on October 1st, I would suggest that you send it by Special Delivery on the Saturday before...bear in mind that most post offices close at 12.30 on Saturdays. This will guarantee that it gets there on Monday October 1st by 1pm..(There is a service that can guarantee that it will get there before 9am and that will cost extra), it will be able to be tracked all of the way, and it will be signed for. The cost bracket starts at £4.30, then £4.75; and goes up with the weight of the item you want to send. You can go onto the Royal mail website and it will tell you how much it will cost to send your letter or package by special Delivery. Or you can phone or go to your local post office and they will help.

1st class mail is reliable in that it will get there. But, it almost never gets there in one day. Even priority mail generally takes 2 days. You can overnight it, but that's big dollars.

UK....You can't depend on 1st class getting there on time. 'Special Next Day Delivery' will guarantee your mail is delivered on the date.....pricey though at around £4 extra.

About as reliable as 2nd. class! Post early!!

I used to think first class mail was reliable until recently when I had a very bad experience. They had lost some mail that was sent to me by my parents and I didn't get until 3 weeks later. I ordered a book online and they lost that too. If it's important you can send it via UPS Envelope or FedEx Envelope.

its pretty good to be honest, i sent something 1st class to an e-bay customer one day at about 6 pm, and he got it the next day.

Very slim chance it will get to where it needs to go in one day using First Class. First Class will take 3-5 days. Depends on how far away you are shipping. You might have to use Overnight shipping, but overnight shipping really only works when you get your shipment sent off first thing in the morning.

if you want something there the next day, just bring it yourself.

Not reliable at all, it could take upto 5 days for 1st class mail to be recieved.
And it's rumoured dat postmen steal mail 2 if it feels like sumthin valuble is inside.
