There are many ways....the treasury department has put many special effects in U.S. currency that is hard to duplicate. The easiest and quickest ways is the feel of the paper, look for the red and blue fibers in the paper, hold the bill up to the light you will see the water mark of the president and the thick string/fiber that runs width wise. There are more but these are the easiest with the naked eye. |

Money has a special feel and smell. Tens and higher have the metal strip in them that is visible if you hold to the light. Water marks are used that you see if held up to light as well. If it is really old money compare to other bills for color, smell and feel |

You won't see the really small little numbers hidden in the prez. Also there's a row of numbers going up and down that you see when you hold it to the light. Plus the pen will mark it black. |

take it to a bank, tell them where u got it and make sure you get the persons name that u got it from. they might reimburse you if someone gets arrested over it, not sure tho, i got $1,000 once in all fake $100's and the cops arrested the person who did it cuz they got a warrant to search they're house and found machines, and i got all my money back and it was real after that lol.... |

they have these really cool pens that you can buy that you make a mark on the bill. if its counterfeit it turns black, if its real it doesnt turn any color.
