A loan or a grant is your best bet. |

start by working for a salon, building a client list and saving every penny you can, then when you can afford to start your own place, you do it - it may take a few years |

First, do some research to find out what opening the business would cost. Leasing space, equipment, etc. Then write up a business plan. (There are books that can teach you how.)
Talk to a CPA and an Attorney to understand the legal and tax liabilities.
Then you can either look into SBA loans, home equity or sell things you own, or a combination of all three to get together your funding. |

Do you need a state license? You can get in touch with a small business administration in our area. Try a local college or university. Sometimes they have free seminars. |

The reason most small businesses fail during their first year is... UNDER CAPITALIZATION... in other words... they try to start a business with little or no money.
As a bare minimum, you need enough money to pay for all the rents, taxes, Liability Insurance, CITY AND STATE LICENSES, furniture and fittings and INVENTORY. As a MINIMUM you need about $25,000 to start ANY business, even a small braiding/styling salon. |

Start out by getting some loyal clients. Work from home and then the word will spread if your clients like what it is you are doing. Before long you will have a good customer base to build off of. |

Given the current state of the economy banks are very tight with lending. They are extremely nervous about giving money to small business owners. Your best bet is to look for a friend or family member to invest in your vision. Anything is possible so work hard for your dream.

Borrow money from the bank and when you get your business up give the money back. |
