when your 14 they dont have to pay you the minium wage but when i was 14 thats what they paid me 5.50 a hour, which is a lot of money for being 14 getting like 200 every two weeks i was happy. |

It depends on what kind of job you get. Minimum wage is exactly that though: the minimum legal amount a company is required to pay an employee. That means if you're working somewhere, that company HAS to pay you at least minimum wage or else they get into trouble with the law. A company can't and won't pay an employee less than minimum wage based on age, race, gender, etc, for that matter.

You are not aloud to pay less than minimum wage for a person's labor. That is why its called "minimum." 14 is too young to get a job for most states. You have to be like around 16. Minimum wage also depends on what state you are in. There are different laws for each.

bra im 16 and cant get a job. the economys down, no one is hirin right now. they dont even want full time people, much less half time. i applyed to 7 jobs and no one replied. its not happenin, unless u work for a farmer or some od jobs. the pay wouldnt be much, besides u cant work at a real place till ur a5, then u can really work at 16... sorry know how u feel bra |
