It is a bit hard to answer without knowing what skills you have, but a few "good old reliables" include aerating lawns and painting house numbers on mailboxes and/or curbs. Neither take much investment or skill, yet can bring in a few dollars in a short period of time.

Well, this worked for me. Sell some stuff on eBay - video games, DVDs, books, etc.
Rake leaves, help old people - those are the alternatives! Go for eBay, it helped me out of a few jams.
