Why would you be embarrassed??? Every girl/woman gets it sometime in their life. Maybe you have questions that your mother could answer. If nothing else, she is there to support you. |

And I remember HATING having to tell my mom, I knew she'd get all emotional and make a fuss (in a good way, but still....) but a friend of mine didn't tell her mom and her mom got all worried because she thought my friend wasn't developing or maturing properly and hauled her to the doctor for a full exam...my poor friend TRIED to explain to her mom that she HAD started getting her period, but her mom didn't believe her and thought she was just trying to avoid the doctor's visit...Tell your mom, get it over with, it will only be a big deal for a day or two. |

Maybe you should tell her. She had experienced the same thing and she could help you out. Have no fear and shame. She's your mother and she loves you. Just talk to her privately about this situation and she'll come to your rescue. |

i didnt tell my mom... she just somehow knew... we never really talked about it.... i think u should just tell her and say u dont wanna talk about it..... and trust me a lot of ppl and scared to talk about it |

I am assuming you are quite young, but at least knowledgeable about having a period. There is NOTHING to be embarrassed about. This is a perfectly normal part of growing up and becoming a woman. If there are problems between you and your mother that you feel you simply can not talk to her about this, at least try to speak with another trusted female, such as a relative, a friend, or teacher. If there are no problems other than your embarrassment, by all means talk to your mother. She should be able to guide you through any questions and should be proud of her "little girl" beginning to grow up. Good Luck! |
