Keep it in a safe place. The point of that tag is so that an inspector knows everything he/she has to know about that model mattress if you want the mattress replaced under its warranty. If you don't care about that warranty, ditch the annoying tag.

It's ok to do it if you bought the matress just not the sellers.See if you look closely at the tag you can see something like the consumer(you) has the right to remove the tag.It's a lie that you will go to jail.
