That all depends on whether or not you are ready, willing and able to take on ALL your responsibilties. That means EVERYTHING... paying your own bills, buying (and washing) your own clothes, and being adult enough to work out a problem on your own without having to run to your mother for support of any kind. When you can do all these things, THEN you are ready to move out.

At 18, you are a legal adult, so yes, you are legally free to live where ever you want to. If you leave, nobody can make you go back if you don't want to. Even if your mom freaked out for some reason and called the cops, they'd tell her that you're all grown up now and have the perfect right to live where ever you want.

Yes. Be sure that your making the right decision. Life is hard, honey!

yes. 18 is the age of freedom. i wouldn't be in such a rush though...growing up and living on your own isn't all it's cracked up to be.

GuitarGirl
I'm pretty sure you can. 18 is the officiall age of freedom, your parents can no longer control your life. You can most definitley move out.

Calina
Legally you can. But think it through carefully. I you move out on your own you will have to be able to pay your own rent, pay for food, utilities, trash, phone, etc.

Do you want this kind of pressure on top of a busy final year of high school?

Is the home situation really that bad that you cannot hang in there till you graduate? I know some home situations are, but if it isn't I would think it to your best advantage to tough it out till at least graduation.

Yes, through the legal system you can be emancipated, making you an adult at the age of 18. BUT-- be aware that along with the freedom of being your own person comes the responsibilities of being your own person. What I'm saying is that this process should not be entered into without thouroughly investigating all the reprecussions.
God Bless -

I think it depends on what state you live in. But I am not sure. Here in Texas if you are 18 you are considered an adult and can move out of your parents house legally. It's a big jump and not as easy as it seems (living on your own).
