Do what you want. teaching is an honorable profession and contrary to what many people think, is a good living with great retirement. Summers off to pursue other things (including making money)
Nursing is much more than a profession, it is a calling. If this is not something you feel drawn to, chances are you wont be happy and will wind up leaving in the future.
Get your education, lean towards teaching if you like. It will be a while before you get that degree and certificate You will have plenty of time to find out where you really want to go. |

I've always been a big believer in doing what's going to make you happy. That being said, I also know that the stresses and pressures that come along with a lower income can make your life pretty challenging.
As for your father's concerns about the income you'll earn as a teacher, my suggestion would be to do a little research into teaching at a private school. The work environment tends to be a little more agreeable, and the pay is usually better.
Ultimately, though, you're going to have to be willing to make your own decisions, and stand firm when defending your position with your father. While he may seem to be a little overbearing, I'm sure he only wants what's best for you.
Good luck. |

You should only be a nurse if that is what you want to do. It is much too demanding a job to do if you don't love it.
If your passion is for teaching children, then you should pursue the education for that. There are few degrees that guarrantee you can make a living right out of college. It is true that it is a little tough financially for new teachers. But there are a lot of strategies to handle that. Many young teachers live with roommates to save on living expenses. Many moonlight, which isn't ideal, but the school schedule makes this easier than with a typical 9 to 5 schedule. There often is a fair amount of opportunities to tutor or teach classes at night(for adults). |

take classes for both and see what happens...Maybe taking the classes will show you that nursing could be for you too. You could be a pediatric nurse and get to be there for sick/injured children and their families. But show your dad that you will consider it by taking a few classes, then if it's not for you, you can tell him that you tried and it's just not going to work. He most likely will appreciate the effort and let it drop. |

Learn proper grammar and spelling first. You're getting way ahead of yourself. |

Do something you really love. It's your life and you don't want to be in a job that you will hate for the rest of your life. |

Do what you love. Even though the pay is lousy, you're happy. Not everything is about money. You can be a nurse and totally be unhappy. BUT...you should at least give it a try! You might like it. And the pay is way better.
Take care! |

I would go to school to be a teacher if that is what I really wanted to do. |

Teachers get summer vacations and nurses work 12-15 hour days. You decide. |

My suggestion, be a pediatric nurse. That way you get the best of both worlds. On the other hand if you don't want to be a nurse at all, what good is all of the money in the world if you aren't happy. Also, some teachers make a very decent living. Especially in good school districts, but most of the time they require a master's degree. Hope this helps. |

Well honey, first learn how to read, write and speak ENGLISH. Nobody wants to send their kids to school to be taught by idiots. THEN go to school to be a teacher. Screw your dad, it's your life not his. Happiness is not about getting paid big bucks if you hate your job. You need to be happy and satisfied with what you do. If he wants so much money then tell him to become a nurse. |

your the boss, not your old man!! do what feels right for you. better to enjoy your work than not. plus we don't live to work, we work to live, so why not enjoy it? lets face it, we spend more of our waking day working than doing what we really want to do, so if teaching and inspiring the next generation is something you would really love to do, then it isn't really work...is it? |

I agree with a previous poster. "wut" is spelled "What." "I" is always capitalized, particularly at the beginning of a sentence. It goes on. Please, don't teach our future generation. America is dumb enough as is. |
