latent | I dream every night and I feel tired when I wake up. How can I not dream so much at night? |

Everyone dreams many dreams a night, they are your mind shifting the previous day's memories into long term memory. The issue might be you have a lot of things stressing you that you are constantly thinking about during the day. If you have things pre-occupying your thoughts constantly they are inter-connecting themselves repetively to your short term memory.
Try a little stress managment and focusing on the task each day. You might sleep better.
Also diet or eating very late can cause unrestful sleep. Excessive caffiene can cause your mind to constantly overwork. Caffiene stays in the body 19 hours. |

Try going to bed earlier. I know people probably always say that, but it makes such a big difference. I find that I not only sleep harder, but have so much more energy the day that follows. |

The one thing is not causing the other. If you are dreaming at night, it is because you are in R.E.M. sleep, which is the most important part of sleeping because it is when the body really recharges. This is what I think though. Everyone dreams every night, it's a proven fact. So, what is happening here is that you perceive yourself to be dreaming more because your R.E.M. sleep is being interrupted by you waking up, which results in you remember the fact that you were dreaming. The way to combat this is to adjust the way you wake up. I suggest having a quiet alarm set about 15-20 minutes before a louder alarm. If the quiet alarm goes off and you are not in R.E.M. sleep, it will wake you up. If it goes off and you are in R.E.M. sleep, it will be quiet enough that your mind will incorporate it into whatever dream you are having. If you weren't in R.E.M. sleep then you will be awake when the louder one goes off 15-20 minutes later. If you were in R.E.M. sleep when the quiet one goes off, you will ignore it, and science tells us that R.E.M. sleep lasts around 20 minutes at a pop as you are sleeping. Thus, when the louder one goes off you wont be in R.E.M. sleep, you won't interrupt your dreaming and you will wake thinking that you have not had dreams that night. |

OMG!!! we have the same problem... i usually dream of scary stuff like dead people, accidents, etc so when i wake up, i just feel so tired.
so to overcome this, i try to have "sleep-friendly food" (hehe what a term!) like milk and hot chocolate. aviod eating anything spicy or anything that has caffein.
also, avoid stress and try to have a healthy life (both physically and mentally) coz i heard that stress can be factor for having bad dreams.
if it doens't work, talk to a specialist. |

#1 You can lay off the High Carbohydrates 2 hours before bedtime.. ( items like soda, beer, cookies, candy etc,) Or if this doesn't help I..if I were you I would get tested for " Sleep Apena - It's a sleep disorder." Goodluck ! |

There may be other reasons besides dreams that cause you to be tired in the morning. First consult a doctor to be sure the fatigue doesn't have a physical cause. |
