I have lost almost everything.can someone help?
Due to my back injury i got from a car accident I have become very behind on bills and rent. They settlement was small and i had to go back to work because my job does not offer health benefits. Now that my back hass gotten worse I was unable to work and became behind onmy bills and rent again. I have lost my job and my apartment within a week's time. I have to move to move out of my apt. by the end of the month. I dont want to resort to anything illegal to survive. I have applied for aall government benefits but that can take up to 3 to 6 months! What should I do. I have called shelters and they are full and I dont have many friends. What can I do thats not illegal. Are there any cash paying jobs where i can stay in a hotel and put my things in storage? Please no rude comments. This is my life and im confused and dont know what to do.
Additional Details
P.S. I do have to have surgery on my back and I have called shelters and went to churches. Basically everything is full, that they know. And to that Horfen guy, you were being rude and mean. I NEVER asked for a handout just an idea on what to do. I didnt mention that i am a single mother of 3 kids and not on welfare. So why your being all high and mighty, think about good people that get put into bad situations and need some kind of idea to get out of it.It's not my fault some idiot decided to hit me with thier car! And thanks to everyone to who gave me thier sincere advice. Im working towards making things better. Thanks again!

First off I think you should pray and ask GOD for an answer!!..Remember he does not put more on you that you can bare...If you have any family to stay with temporarily until you get on your feet i suggest that...or if you are able to talk to your landlord and ask for an extension I would suggest you do that it doesnt hurt to ask!!!

I'm so sorry to hear that. Where is your location? Why not try the local hotels. Explain your problem to the management and hope they will understand and give you a job. You can also try to do something from home. If you good in cooking, maybe you can bake cookies then sell or anything that you capable of doing. U can also try to find some companies that can give you part time work as data entry clerk. I don't really what do you have there at your place, the above are just my suggestions. All the best to you!

You are going to have to find out if those few friends you have are true friends and see if they can help you, or you can try family which you didn't mention. Even though it might be painful you are out of alternatives. See if yur social worker can get some immediate assistance to you, or see manybe your church or the red cross can help.

Try to go to some of the local churches. They helped my cousin get her a place to live and even helped her with her bills until she had other forms of help. I know that this is a rough time for you and although I do not know you I will keep you in my prayers. ALways remember that there is a blessing in the storm and keep praying. God will make a way for you. But please try the churches and thd shelters in the area. I hope that this works out for you.

when push comes to shove and you have no where to go gp to th police station,, the city has ways of either putting you up or getting you in touch with people who can and it pused thru a lot of red tape for you too,,,gives you a priority

For now, u can do the following; do not rush into things yet. take the simplest step out of the difficulty:
1. pray to god and ask for help.
2. get in touch with any govt agency that can help you; at least provide u with a tempo job so tide over ur difficulties for even a few weeks, months, etc.
3. consider part time jobs that put too much pressure on ur back. maybe baby sitting or whatever is available in your state of residence.

but pray with a sincere heart and within a week, u will be over ur problems.

I don't know where you live or I could probably find you links... But I'll give you my best advice... I am kinda in the same boat as you, however I didn't injure my back, I quit my job to go into a rehab program for my drinking problem. After I got sober, we found out that I messed up a lot of my insides and right now I can't work. And disability doesn't want to help out since "i created the problem myself"...
I live in a fairly small town, only 50k people. The county mental health services has a whole lot of places that they have access to that can house you temporarily. A lot of the shelters around here say they are "full" however, they have beds reserved for agencies like mental health and victim's services and what not. They aren't technically "full" but to the non-referred person, they have no vacancies. Your human services people might be able to refer you to some of these places too. If not, contact the local police/sheriff's department. Also, try the larger churches. A lot of them have shelters or know of places for women to go. A lot of them can also help you with food, money for bills, money for rent, etc. Ask the social security office where you are applying for SSI for some ideas as to places you can go. Also, go to your local human services and apply for General Relief. If you tell them that you have less than $50 in the bank, you are in danger of eviction and are disabled, they can jump through hoops to get you stuff in less than a day. They also have medical insurance available for all Americans who are in need. I went to my social services office and took my bank print out that showed that I had less than $50 to my name, by the end of they day they had all of my medical turned on and a card with emergency food stamps on it. Normally it takes a month and a half.

I don't know about cash paying jobs that will put you up in a hotel, however I know of some legitimate work-from-home type jobs that you may get hired on immediately. These aren't the ones where you get 2 cents for reading an email, or where you have to buy some crap first... I'll put the links in the sources for you. There are some pretty good job opportunities on these sites. I have my resume into a few of them. Most of the work-from-home jobs are computer/desk type jobs. perfect for disabled people.
Ooh, also, try to see if your town has something like Work-Force Connection. This may be a California thing, but it's a government run group that helps people find jobs. They help able-bodied people as well as disabled. They also provide free training, resume help, etc...

Now, good luck. I'll put you in my prayers!

Try the Red Cross or better yet the Salvation Army or your local YMCA. I know all about back pain, it can be excruciating, but if you can sit at a computer, you can work. Maybe something that has to do with answering phones (receptionist job) or greeting of some kind. Hostess at restaurant or something. Anything is better than nothing. Don't wait for the gov't to bail you out. They have more red tape than you can shake a stick at, and they don't really care if you fall between the cracks. Delivering newspapers is a cash job, but it takes a lot of back strength to lift the papers. I don't know of any cash jobs because most of those are under the counter and are questionable as far as legality is concerned. Also the IRS is always looking for those who forget to pay their taxes. The cash jobs require physical work, and if your back is such that you can't they are out of the question anyhow. McDonald's is always hiring, pay isn't great, but it will buy dinner and it shouldn't hurt your back.

First of all I really empathize with you and I wish I could help you out. I'm wishing so much you find a fast resolution to all your troubles.

The only thing I can think of is maybe trying to do something on the Internet for money. I know you see a lot of "get rich quick" ads all over the net, and I'm not going to lie and say you'll make tons of money in the first week (you definitely won't; I didn't), but maybe you can read over some of this info. Just to know some more options. For the record, I do get a percentage of the profit if you decide to do one of these because I'm an affiliate, but this is not why I'm posting. I hope that whatever you do works. Good luck, honey : )

Do you have family you can stay with? Can you work something out with your landlord? I know someone who applied for disability benefits, and it took nine months, but his landlord was very understanding and allowed him to stay the whole time. He eventually paid all his back rent. If your landlord is not very understanding, I have some hard advice for you: call a lawyer that specializes in these matters and ask what you can do within the law to stay as long as possible without paying and without getting evicted. There may be some legal loopholes you can exploit. Yes, it's not very nice, but this is your life here. You have to fight for it, and you may have to play hardball. But be sure you understand what you're doing and what the consequences are (for example, your credit).

Next, you need to find something you can do even with your injury. Since you can get online you may be able to do something like sell on eBay. You can get a business partner to do the physical work you can't do, such as purchasing and shipping. You can spend all your time researching online which products to sell and where to get them cheaply (assuming by then you will be getting disability and are able to keep your head above water). Or you can get a job with a temp agency that can quickly place you in positions that you are physically able to fill.

I sincerely wish you the best of luck. You will get through this and be stronger than ever.

I am sorry to say this but you have asked this question before. I think you should get to a church and they will help you. you may have to sell you computer and VCR and some other stuff to survive like I had too. I even lost my house lock stock and barrel so I had no where to go except up. It is a struggle I do know that but none the less you have to do what needs to be done to survive.

call a local church. they have benevolence funds to help people in these types of situations. often times they have church members who would love to donate furniture and things like that. they can give you money for a hotel while you look for another job ... and then go to another one until you get a first paycheck.

i'd also call my local county human services division and see if they can help you and/or direct you to other services.

i know you must be so tired and frightened. keep the faith ... this too shall pass.

The questions you should ask yourself is why did you not have enough cash saved to keep you from becoming behind in your rent and bills. You should have saved at least 6 months expenses in cash to save you in situations like these?

Also when you got a job, why did you not insist on health benefits?

You are now in the cr..p and are looking for sympathy and handouts? You should have looked after yourself!!

Im not being rude but realistic.
