if you did not enter the lotto, it is prob a scam. thats the way lotto works, you have to enter it to win. you can look up lotto scams on line. i got an e mail that said pretty much the same thing and i did a google search on the name of the lotto company and found a few sites with common names and scams. you might want to check it out really well before you do anything. there were a bunch of lotto scams from europe on there. i cant remember the site name, but you can find alot of diffrent ones that lits most of the scams. |

Keep the check, don't deposit it. Don't send any money. Cut off any contact as they may try to get info for identity theft. It is a scam.

Yes, it's a scam.
The check is counterfeit and you won't find that out until way after you have sent them the money. Your bank will hold you responsible and the police really won't care that you didn't know it was a counterfeit check on someone else's account. |

Yes it is a scam. When you deposit the check, they get your bank account number and address from Western Union. |

Its a scam. I just got one last week and brought it to my bank, and they said if I did not enter the lotto then how could I win then they told me if I deposit the check they would have to close my account. |

Send them some monopoly money...
or keep in contact with them as long as you can...string them along. Tell them you're having trouble getting the funds....ask for advice and help....make them work for their payoff....and don't ever give it to them. See how long you can keep them on the hook. |

Don't do it. It is a scam. Once you've cashed the check, and it bounces, the bank will make you pay it back. If this scam is from Nigeria, then for sure it is a nasty scam. Take this phoney check to your bank. Ask and have them do the detective work for you. But I can bet you any money this is a nasty scam. Stay away from anything that is from Nigeria. Even with Money Orders. Warnings about this stuff. It is false. |
