No! Yahoo will or any legitimate organization will never ask you for a credit card number unless you are making a purchase.
Report it by forwarding it to abuse@yahoo.com.
You can also help prevent spam/skam by forwarding it to phishing reporting, reportphishing@antiphishing.org
(should be .org -can't get it to come up right)
-and to Government SpamReporting, spam@uce.gov. |

Nope. I bet it even landed in the Bulk folder and you were curious. If Yahoo has anyhing to say to you, then the email is highlighted in blue.
It's spam/scam, as already mentioned, and you should delete it asap - if you haven't done so already. |

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Bluementhal was informed of such a scan happening to 14 Connecticut residents. Complaints were filed by the 14 people and an investigation was initiated. It traced the info back to a company pretending to be Yahoo! when those 14 people had made purchases via Yahoo! through almost any service Yahoo! has that requires a payment. They said that they mischarged them and would give them the money back should they give them their credit card number. The 14 people did and when their credit card balances came in the mail there was thousands of dollars in missing money in each person's account.
So please don't end up like them because it'll just waste your time with court settlements and lawyers and all that stuff when you could simply delete the email. |
