read the fine print. Did you enter a contest? Its more than likely a scam. shred it after you check it out |

I see flashing warning lights all over this. If you don't enter a contest, you can't win one. It is illegal to enter a person in a contest without their consent, and the instant you try to deposit that check, the sender will be able to find out your bank info... Shred that thing, or better yet, send a copy to the Better Business Bureau... |

If you do not know the bank and do not do business with the bank then they must not want to speak to you. I would be leary of the check. Are there any papers that came with the check? Take it to your local band that you do business with and see what they have to say. If no results there go to the local police department and see if any scams have been reported by this place. Whatever you do don't try to cash it without investigation. |

Read the fine print. Did you enter a contest? Its more than likely a scam. Take it to a No ID check cashing place and cash it. That way, they won't have your banking information or ID info. Fake your signature also. |

It probably is. People don't just send each other money in the mail, I know I've never sent random people money, and haven't received any.
Read it carefully, and if the scam isn't apparent then, take it to your bank, get an officer that's been around a while and say "what IS this?"
If you take it to a teller, they might cash it and start the trouble that it was designed to cause. |

Why would someone go to the trouble of sending a fraudulent cashier's check on Region Bank, also known as Regions, with no date on it, no name in the 'Pay to the order of' and no letter? The FEDEx Priority Overnight envelope was billed to a Church in Springfield, Mo. I know there is something VERY wrong with this situation, but why go to all this trouble? |
