Discipline your self to write a book and treatment and then solciit it to puplishers.

Have you considered becoming a paralegal? You get to research case law and write briefings, etc. You would want to orient your college courses accordingly and pursue a B.S. or B.A. degree, and seek summer internships in the legal profession. Start with your local newspaper. Find something you feel passionatley about. Write a 1000 word article on it. Then knock it down to about 500-700 words throwing away the part that isnt absolutely necessary. Call a small newspaper and ask if you could write a column for them bi-weekly
Good luck.. I did it this way and it works great. Once the small papers publish you.... It will be easy to get to the big guys like NY Times
