I imagine you might be a year or two short of the eligible age of getting a job with a permi, so getting a job is out of the question... To try to earn money for trips like this, I know a lot of students get help to make handouts and send emails asking family and friends to donate to your cause; explain to them that it is an educational experience you'd love to partake in and include all details. Try talking to your teacher too, there may be some fund raising opportunities selling prepackaged cookies or something of the like (I did this to raise money to attend a trip for a club). If you're truly passionate, you should be able to find little ways to earn and save up for the trip. If not, you could always wait a year or two and go next time. Either way, good luck! |

I really admire that you are wanting to help your Mom out. It shows that you are caring and mature. When I was your age I babysat. Are there any moms in your area who might like help with their kids after school? I worked with a mom who had a new baby and wanted someone to help keep the toddlers busy. Check with neighbors to see if they need any help with housecleaning and such. When our kids were smaller I had a preteen give me a hand with housework. With the holidays coming up you could offer to gift wrap or watch children while parents shop. Do you or your mother know anyone who might need help in the office? On vacation you can answer phones or do light filing. . |

If it snows where you are, find a place with lots of elderly people and ask to shovel their driveways and steps for $20. Get 10 people and you made $200...
You can do the same with mowing the lawn, washing cars, walking their animals... |

If I were you, then i would try having a yard sell if you have anything that you don't want. If you have a cd burner on your pc then try selling some burnt cd's! Or you could always baby sit! That's a sure way to make some money, I'm always lookin for a good baby sitter... you could always make some lemonade too! Other than that... I don't know anything for a 13 year old to do. |

A Spanish trip to Canada??? How does that work. The official languages of Canada are English and French.
Surely you should be heading South to speak Spanish.
French up, Spanish down. |

you don't say when the $ is due for the trip but mid-march is about 4 months away. that comes out to around $25 a week. seems like that wouldn't be so hard to do from babysitting, household chores for the neighbors, etc. think outside the box. |

actually this might be your only option unless u wanna walk dogs or do a paper route until mid march, google publisher clearing house, its like a sweepstake thing but you just have to register and wait, the bad thing is you might not win by march so its good to start working now just incase |

Sell things on ebay, shovel snow, mow lawns, babysit, throw a bake sale for "charity", beg for money on a street corner (I'm not even joking, some people pay their rent that way) or you can get a credit card and withdraw the money, they aren't supposed to give credit cards to people under 18 but sometimes they do anyway, you could try it. |

well im guessing nobody else can hand you the money but since your only thirteen I guess you can just request any baby sitting (for family I suggest) or do chores and stuff and ask to be paid like 5-10 or even 20 dollars if possible....

Do people speak spanish in Canada, unless there on a trip, unless thats what your doing. not to be impolite!! I live in canada, my dad owns a business, so i work for him! i get payed good money, and im 14 since October. If your mom really cant afford the money like i couldnt afford my school trip, i said i wouldnt go. its a sacrifice i was gunna make. but i told my self there will be a lot more trips i can go one. and my trip was to Quebec, canada? im live in Newfoundland. were like neighbors and it was over 2000 dollars. i can see why you really wanna go. but if its a must. try to see if you can work for someone you know? like i did. hope this helps a lot!! |

the easiest way for kids to make money is fundraisers. sell something to somebody, and tell them it's for your trip. i'm sure people would be more than willing to help out...especially if they're getting good cookies. you could sell 400 cookies by march easy. |

i made loads of money when i was your age and younger washing cars.
get a bucket anda sponge, some washing up liquid (in a car wash bottle so it looks good!!!) and walk around your area and knock on doors.
just keep going, you will find, if you are persistant, that you will make a tidy profit. not sure what you get for a car today, but id say you have justenough time...but work all weekend. and dont waste time dilly dallying when your out.
you can charge for more stuff, but make sure its worth it. and try diff sales pitches....be cheeky like say washand wax....and show a 'wash with wax' bottle if they ask. but dont do a bad job. do the job well. and be polite and dont make a mess. |
