The problem with the simplified comic versions is that it is normally people pressing very specific ideas that they think are most important. The Bible is so open to interpretation that you need to be careful if you do that, there are plenty of people who make simpler versions so that people will lean toward their personal interpretations. If you don't find any use in the reading of the Bible straight through, I would focus more on helping the less fortunate and often you can find answers there. |

Hey, I think it is so wonderful that you are reading the Bible. My husband does it every day. We have many versions of the Bible, but let's face it, some versions are really really hard to understand due to the wording. Sooooo, we have GOOD NEWS FOR MODERN MEN. It is written in every day language. We also used to have this really neat Bible for our son ( who gave it away, darn it) and it was written for Teens. I, even as an OLD person, really loved reading it. Soooo, my recommendation is to go on line or to a book store and check out some of the different versions of the Bible...open them up and read a bit to see which one gets through to you the best. Trust me, I know exactly what you are saying on having difficulty reading and keeping the Bible interesting and understandable.....then, once you get the drift with an easier version...you can go back to a more difficult version if you wish (you don't have to) and you will already know what's going on. Hope that helps you a little bit. Don't feel alone, kiddo....we all have had our difficulties with some parts of the Bible! |

Always PRAY before you start reading your Bible. Ask God to open your heart and mind to what he wants you to receive. Have patience and be obedient....God will open up your eyes.....guaranteed!! Don't give up on GOD, he will never give up on you! |

its not supposed to be a comic,do you think its comedy regardless if one doesnt believe that its from god or even if they dont believe in god and think that all religions and books are man made,all that is irrelevnt because the over all message and stories in it are very serious and should be taken seriously,so i hope that you can look beyond what you heard and just take it for what its worth.and you know what bible stands for BASIC.INSTRUCTIONS.BEFORE.LEAVING.EARTH. |
