How about a garage sale or find yourself a small job like washing cars or making lemonade and selling it, or cookies etc....
Yes buying a friend something is nice but also why not make them something... It's the thought that counts at the end of the day not the cost of what you've bought them.... How about asking your parents for help and saying if I make x amount of money will you match it so I can get my friends a gift, then you're not really using their money.... It would be something I'd say to my kids, you make something and I'll match it or make up the rest....

1) Your parents may be rich, but you are not.
2) I can't think of any legitimate/legal way a 16 year old with no job can make $300 in two weeks (unless you sell some of the stuff your parents bought you, in which case they're actually paying for the gift, which is what you want to avoid).
3) I think a gift from the heart would mean more to your friends than an over the top gift.
4) If you really want to do this, why not borrow the money from your parents and then pay them back over time? Get a job over the summer and pay them back from your salary. |

Rich neighbors near you? Babysit. My friend earns like 50$ an houar no kidding. Or think of what your good at and write on paper. See what you can use to actually earn some moolah and type on a piece of paper. Hand out to anyone you see. Or google how to earn money in 1 day or something like that. |

Here's something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:
Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!
The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.
Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.
Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling. |
