Section 8 (HUD) is only available to low income families.
You should contact your local United Way agency for more info. |

For section 8 only a certain number of people are allowed to live in your household. Your landlord has to be willing to accept it as well.. otherwise you'd have to find someone that would. They base whether or not your eligible to section 8 off of your income.
You can look into it more at your local town/city hall or ask about it at your local WIC office! :) |

The web site is www.gosection8.com
How you get a house to qualify is simple: register it with the web site and when someone is interested in your property they will send out a rep to make sure your house is up to code. After they qualify your house you sign a contract with the tenant and the section 8 branch covering your house. The tenant moves in and section 8 sends you a check every month. |

ok they go by income ok this is what you have too do go too your local houseing authority pick up a section 8 application.. tell them what everyone in your house makes.. if no one works then you can still get it .. like in my household my mom and dad are disabled they get about1550 a month i get about1300 a month cause i work.. so add that up it comes too about2850 dollars a month so we pay 950 a month towards our rent.. goes directly from here too landlord,, section 8 pays the rest theres 5 people in our household my brother and sister dont work they take classes... but we have too pay all bills they dont do that.. our rent would be about 1500 a month without section 8.. but if you dont work or not much income coming in then its much lower go too your local office they will explain it all too you good luck ..... |

Section 8 will pay your rent for a place to live but they will have to go thru your financial records to see if you qualify. You will have to make under a certain amount of money. You will get a better place if you have children. They if you qualify, they will have to approve the apartment. Also, not all landlords will take sec. 8.
you will need to contact your local housing authority for more details. If you qualify for sec 8 , then you may also qualify for food stamps. |

hello, well i know a little bit about section 8 housing. if you want to rent out your house on a section 8 then you need to contact housing for rent thru the section 8 program. you can go to your town housing authority because they also do section 8 housing. then if you don't want to work with the town they will give you the info for you to contact the government for section 8 housing ok? so this is what is needed for you to be eledgeble to rent out your home for section 8... they set up a date to come & inspect the home that will be rented thru them & you. you need a front door & a back door you also need storm windows & if you have stairs outside like say your back door then you need a railing. also if you have stairs in the house from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor you will need a railing that is sturdy & not loose. also if you have stairs to the basement you will need a railing for them too. they will check the paint on the walls to see if you need freshly painted walls & cielings too. they have a list of things & they will check it out & let you know what you need to have done & then they will tell you when they will be back to see if all those things that they told you to have done got done. every year this will happen. the rent will depend on how many bedrooms you have. they are great about the rent & you won't have to worry about if it comes in the mail or not because it will always arrive on time. just make sure that you do your homework on who ever applies ok? because you don't want a family that will destroy your property. most people are just so happy to get in a nice house on section 8 & they do take pride in keeping up the house so it's clean. but still be very careful. if i was you i would rent it out thru a real estate agency because they know how to check out the references. also they will handle the rent that is due to you & take a fee off every month for themselves upfront. but it's worth it believe me ok? so i hope i was of some help to you. also u can rent out thru housing authority by your town. it's the same thing, u will have to have your home inspected by the housing authority & they have alist too! good luck, bb, nobrethequeen |

first you have to go to your local welfare office (or something like it, some states seperate services) and apply for services.
once approved they sometimes give you a list of appartments that will qualify and sometimes you have to find something on your own.
If you have to find something on your own - just search for places with the # of Bedrooms and rent amount that they told you you were approved for.
Any place that is in good shape whith in your price range will qualify.
The landlord will have to fillout a paper and send it back to welfare. They will come and inspect to make sure it is in good shape and every thing workes and then they tell you when you can move in. |

you should contact your local housing authority. when i called one time and asked the criteria, they told me that the only requirement was that i was a resident of my city. i'm sure there has to be more, but that was all she told me at the time. i do know that most cities have a wait list. basically, they pay your rent. and my understanding is that it does not necessarily mean government housing. if you can get a landlord to accept the Section 8, then the agency pays the rent (or any portion of rent they are covering) directly to your landlord. |

Section 8 is where welfare pays your rent directly to the owner-lease company. Houses/apartments are put on the section 8 list by the owners agreeing to let them be rented to people on welfare. |

You have to be deemed crazy by the military in order to qualify for this. Hence the term Section 8. |
