How about.
I don't want to hear you people griping about anything, you should consider yourselves lucky that you are getting this. Alot of companies no longer give bonuses.
kidding...I'm at a lose, shocked by the fact that there are still companies out there that do give bonuses. |

The gratitude for what and the direction you want them to go is necessary to answer this question. What type of work is the employees doing? |

It's your job and you are getting paid for it, right? Why should we do your work for you? It's not hard. Start writing. |

"We would like to take this opportunity, once again, of expressing our thanks for your particular part in the the Company's success during the last nn months.
We would like you to know that everyone's contribution is highly valued - an organisation can only be as good as its individual members.
We hope that you enjoy your work with us as much as we appreciate having you in the team."
It depends how many employees there are, but the more personal it can be made, the better - even to the extent of writing all the notes by hand and addressing them personally. |

If you have time, put it inside a fortune cookie. A bakery should be able to help, or even a message in a cupcake. I like this .. "Man who says it cannot be done should not interrupt man doing it," Sam Wo.. And then your own personal message maybe something like "Here's to doing it! Thank you for your most valued contribution." Congratulations, as the leader of a team worthy of bonuses! Where do I sign? |

They'll like this one..... :)
Congratulations! Your kids will be back in school soon!
I'd go with something like that. Employees read those things mainly to see what the management's "take" is. We really find those messages insincere and cheesy. If you want to show us appreciation, you'll tell us in person, not insert a typed line on our paychecks. Writing something like I said, though, shows that you understand what it is like to be a parent, and you identify with our daily struggles. You have a sense of humor, and we have a commonality. As an employee that reads those damn one-liners every payday, I'd find something I wrote a lot more personable, as if it came from someone that was a lot like me and might actually relate to and care about my problems.
Best of luck! |
