I received a letter saying that I have won a prize worth £2950 from Clubseasons?
This morning I have received a letter delivered via recorded delivery. It was from Clubseasons.co.uk and said I have won a prize to the value of £2950 and there is a free phone number to call which is 0800448448 which I did dial only to find out that I have to pay for the membership which is normally £300 but given at a discounted rate of £160. The prize actually is a holiday , where you can spend a week, with upto 4 people , in a 5 star + hotel. The holidays can be spent within the UK or outside.

I have mixed feelings about this because although it looks blatantly obvious this is a scam at a glance, the fact they sent the letter via recorded delivery, the 0800 number, etc makes me think again. What would you do I you were in my situation?
Additional Details
Yes I do remember registering my details on some website which probably was to do with this. I m sure thats how they got my details. So I cant rule out the fact that I didnt participate in a draw.

SCAM! You may be able to stay in this fab 5* hotel, but the norm with this kinda thing is that YOU pay for the food, being a 5* hotel, this ain't going to be cheap my Friend. BIN IT NOW!
Plus, read the very, very small print and you may find the phone call will cost you £1.50 per min, and the call will last up to 10 minutes before you ca claim the so called prize!
fly to Spain...........a lot cheaper in the long run........

I would throw it in the bin where it belongs. ANything that reuires you to spend money before receiving a so called prize is a scam. Did you enter a competition to win this prize - I thought not !!! Bin it love xxxxx

you get nothing for nothing mate! and that's a fact. if it's a holiday on the continent, you may find you have to pay for flights, and/or spend a lot, a lot of time listening to nob heads guffing on about time share. just because it was a 0800 number doesn't mean that they haven't clocked your number and are using it right now, hope you don't find that you have a bill for ££££'s. and most importantly, please don't say you've given them your credit card number? it's all identity fraud, you must have heard of that? even if it is on the up and up, they have to be making money out of it somehow, and £140 doesn't sound like a good return on their investment...sorry all gloom and doom. don't phone back!!!

LL
It's a scam.
It's been in the news and newspaper lately. So watch out.
Not only are they sending letters, but emails too and maybe phone calls.
I always get them.
Remember you need to participate in order to win.

Nothing's for nothing, of course it's a scam.

Star
Seeing it as an outsider, how much does it cost to send an item via recorded delivery compared to the 160 youo'd be giving them.

Nothing in life is free as they say.

Be careful, I would stay clear

it IS a scam, especially if you didn't sign up for it. .

the old adage, "if it seems to good to be true, it probably is" fits well here.

good luck and God bless you.
