Yoyo | I sold 2 pairs of jeans on ebay but buyer says sizes are wrong, they are not, should I refund? |
The buyer claims they don't fit as they have been labelled wrong by the manufacturer (different brands of jeans bought from different high street shops!) although they are my size and fitted me perfectly, I don't want bad feedback from him but don't think he deserves a refund either, I have a buyer policy of no refunds unless item is faulty, what should I do? |

personally, I'd refund AFTER receiving the jeans back. Just for the sake of good customer service. |

When you post jeans on Ebay, make sure you post all the information about the jeans and not just the labeled size. The reason for this is that all jeans fit differently, and many brands do size incorrectly. For example, Hudson & Diesel Jeans are almost never their correct size, but are 1-2 sizes smaller.
You and the buyer probably have different body types, so the jeans may fit them differently than they fit you.
Always include the waistband in inches, the rise in inches, the length and the leg opening. This way, people can measure the actual band & inseam of their current jeans to make sure the new ones will fit them. In that case, they can't say jeans were mismarked, because they have the exact measurements.
If I were you, I would give the refund - the buyer pays to ship back. You will be able to easily resell them, and you won't get the bad feedback that can ruin your ebay account. Probably the person is being honest, and not trying to scam you. Jeans are a very tough thing to buy online.
Take my suggestion and post all the measurements, along with your current return policy which is good. It shouldn't happen in the future.
Good luck. |

I recently had a similar thing but the other way round. Jeans were listed as an eight but say a ten inside. The seller was very rude and said i could have a refunf after returning the jeans however i would not be refunded postage and she would deduct listing fee! Think you are best to offer a refund minus the postage but make sure that you make clear is a goodwill gesture. You can always relist them. |

Depends on whether you want to stay in business or not. If the ables wee turned, how would you like to be treated? |

if your ad stated no refunds and to ask questions first then I'd simply let them know you can't refund clothes just because they don't fit - and also inform eBay - I realize you don't want neg feedback BUT ................ and in future clothes ads (on eBay) put in large print "NO REFUNDS IF CLOZ DONT FIT" so ask questions first and add measurements ............. I'd be polite and take the possible neg FB hit rather than refund him OR tell him to mail them back but you will only refund the actual proce of the jeans NOT shipping BOTH ways |

Then politely tell him that it clearly states in your item description that you do not offer a refund unless the item is faulty. It is not your fault that they do not fit him, if they fitted you and you are the size that the jeans state, then that is what size the jeans are. He is obviously tring to get in clothes that are the wrong size. If you do decide to refund, make sure you get the jeans back first. |

I bought a pair of jeans yesterday and if they do not fit the description then I will expect my money back. You will get bad feedback so it's up to you now really. |

The whole reason people are hesitant about eBay is this very issue. There is no way that you can be certain that a pair of jeans will fit until you try them on. I would never purchase from you if you did not allow me to return jeans. When I list jeans I give every measurement possible and I still offer refunds. I specify no shipping refund, but I always refund that as well. I just can't stand someone to pay shipping charges on something they didn't end up getting. As it is, they end up paying the return shipping. Having said that, I don't process the refund until I receive the jeans back. I admit, I don't like processing refunds, but I wouldn't feel right if I didn't. But, since I list complete measurements, not just the size, my return rate is minuscule. |
