I find this interesting, because you didn't ask "How much should I expect to pay, and way?"
You asked, "How much should I expect and why?"
It depends on the item you are purchasing. If it is a cotton t-shirt, you should expect quite a lot for $100. If it is a 2007 automobile, I wouldn't expect much at all. |

10% of $100.00 is 10 dollars so expect to pay 90 unless its online and you have shipping and other costs. Hope that helps :) |

You should receive something you want for the amount you will pay. What kind of question is that? |

10% off 100 dollars is 90 dollars |

Expect to pay $90 plus tax and if it's shipped then you have that expense also. |

What I find most interesting about this question is the 'and why?' part, lol, $100 minus 10% is 90, why? Because it is.
How much should you expect to pay? Well maybe $90 plus tax, shipping and handling but if you cannot figure that much out then maybe you'll be paying more. |

$90. 10% of 100 is 10. |

expect about $95.00 including tax. 90 for the thing, 4.5 rounded up to 5 for tax. |

10% off would put the price @ $90 but expect to pay $100 when you estimate the taxes on it. |

You should expect to pay almost the same price because of the tax. |

$90. cuz if its $100 then 10% is $10 dollars off |

Expect to get $10 off the $100. The cost would be $90 plus tax if it is applicable.
Is this a trick question? |

Do the math. $10.00 off. |

um yeah its gonna be 90$... this is the most simple math problem ever. % is based of 100 so if its out of 100... yeah why did you have to ask this? |

90% plus tax
.10 * 100= 10 100-10=90 |
|

expect $90
percent means per hundred. you have exactly one hundred dollars, so ten per cent off means 10 dollars off.
I HOPE this isn't a serious question. |

Cost = $100 - ($100 * 10%) = $90
Sales Tax = $90 * local tax rate (say, 5%) = $4.50
So, total cost is $94.50 assuming 5% sales tax and not additional expenses like shipping cost, etc. |
