That depends on whether they sell the bags individually and whether the price per bag varies with the number of bags purchased. If bags cost $10.00 each without regard to the number you purchase, 4.5 bags would cost $45. |

In the real world situation, food is unlikely to be sold X amount per pound, because you're most likely buying it by the bag. But since this sounds like a math problem...
If x represents the number of pounds, then:
3.5x=35
x = 35/3.5, or 10
Each pounds costs 10 dollars. Therefore, four and one half pounds is equal to 4.5 times ten, or 45 dollars. |

Just look at the numbers real hard you will see the answer and you don't need any calculation:
3.5 for 35

4.5 for 45 |
