karen b | If I had 1 million dollars and I took 1 penny away, would I still be a Millionaire. (100-1=99 cents)? |
If I had 1 dollar and I took away 1 cent, I will only have 99 cents and I won't have a complete dollar, therefore I am asking the same if I had 1 million dollars and I took away 1 cent, am I still a millionaire? |

Openly Straight
|
no, you'd be a $999,999.99-ionairre |

Your playing with semantics. Technically and by the definition you would not be a millionaire anymore. However, the penny is insignificant and for all intensive purposes you would still be considered a millionaire.
Think of it as the same reason stores sell something for $29.99. By the true definition it is not $30, but people will treat it as being $30. |

no you won't you would be one cent short of being a millionaire |

If you are talking cash then no. If you are talking about a checking account, savings account, money market fund then probably. Remember, you are making interest on your money. So, a penny wouldn't offset that. |

if you round up yes. but really, no because you don't really have a million dollars |
|

Ed Atun
 |
Technically yes because you still have a dime and some other change in your old pant's pocket and in the sofa cushions.. |
|

nagudmit
 |
technically speaking, youd have $999,999.99, shy of a millonaire.
But if you put that $999,999.99 in the bank, the interest would make you a millionaire very quickly.

Leanne Dalton
 |
ya u would if u round it. but really u r a 999 999 999.99 aire. |
|

James Dylan Dean
|
No - You would have $999,999.99 with one penny removed.
That's Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine Thousand, Nine Hundred and Ninety Nine Dollars and Ninety Nine cents.
Speaking of penny millionaires...
If you took a penny today (1 cent)
and DOUBLED it every day
How long before you'd reach 1,000,000 dollars?
The answer may surprise you! 8D |
