Frankinscense and myrrh were indeed expensive items. However, Joseph and Mary had other children besides Jesus to care for (Matthew 13:53-56) and no doubt raising a large family would have cost more than a few gifts of myrhh would provide. |

wel, i dont know much abot the bible, but i imagine they had to sell these gifts to pay for the various expenses involved in raising a baby. i bet the money didn't last long, and anyone who has had kids would probably agree. |

Because people read and do not understand the bible. The IT profession back then was being a carpenter, which Joseph was and therefore so was Jesus. They had money. Like today in modern society the IT profession is lawyer or doctor etc. People assume he was poor because he was always spending the night in the open or by someone being charitable to him and the disciples and allowing them to spend the night in there home. |

just a guess...but Jesus grew up in Nazareth, which in slang of that day was considered the city of garbage, i.e. the slums. How many rich people do you know living in the slums. |

Well, they splurged on an Egyptian getaway, bought a whole carpentry tool set, Jesus was educated by the best Rabi's and he gave about 90% to the poor, well that leaves them poor... |

The 3 Wise Men were " Ind..an Givers and Also Very Wise.." they merely presented this stuff as offerings like a toast at a wedding and took them back.. |
