I think in Europe they all use the Euro, like the dollar which is used in all the states but in Britain they also maybe have bartering which is what my Grandpa said they did when he was there during the war, so they exchange goods based on weight measured in pounds. So they may say I'll give you a pound of sugar for two pounds of lard (which is like crisco) or I'll give you a frolic in the hay for three pounds of apples and a a half pound of nylons. The money in England before the Euro was not decimal either so they had some mad form of 16 pence to a shilling and 37 1/2 to a groat or something like that. I think they did not want to change as they are quite conservative I am told but the money system was so complicated that they decided to use the Euro as tourists (the main revenue earner for Britain) could not really get to grips with the money. |

As the old Britons used to say "There will always be a Pound". Th UK hasn't adopted the Euro as official currency. The adoption a a single currency is by consensus and not mandatory in the EU. |

the uk doesn't use the euro, denmark, sweden and norway I think still use their own currency, and of course swizterland, but although in europe, they don't belong to the EU so they don't count. |
