If all the nations in the world are in debt, where did all the money go?

Well, not all of the world's nations are in debt, but much of the money ends up in the hands of private entities as governments spend it to help people, either their own, or another country's people.

The United States spends money on itself to help stimulate economic development, as well as to help in recovery after large natural disasters. It also spends money on foreign countries to help with their development or other misfortunes.

One might ask, "if the government issues the money, why not print more of it if they're in debt". The simple answer is that if they did this, it would make that country's money less valuable. That's a bad thing...afterall, who wants to have worthless money?

Much of the debt of nations is to individuals and corporations who buy bonds from the government as an investment vehicle. For example, a U.S. Treasury bond is basically a loan that you give to the U.S. government. After the the term of the bond expires, you get your money back plus interest.

everybody is borrowing money on an intrest scale every one borrows money then they have to borrow money from somewhere else to pay the debt gatting them selvs into more debt then stupid contries just give their money to countries who dont really need it because they have no debt to pay so really it is every nbation is in debt to another nation and continuing to borrow money
