well caffeine doesn't give you energy per se.
but what it basically does is give you an "energy high."
what this means is that it speeds up your metabolism, making everything seemingly faster.
now, the reason why caffeine may be bad for you is that it basically messes up your metabolism, which are usually the "caffeine lows" which are basically when you feel like you have no energy.
so thats why. also it can become addictive. also it may be bad for you skin. |

It makes your heart beat faster, it raises insuline levels, its almost like a drug, your body doesn't need it and although it does something good for you like give you energy to get things done at the same time its bad in the fact that too much can be harmful. It increases anexiety, and believe it or not A LOT of people, more than you think of, are allergic to it. I am, I'll get sick and tired if I have too much of it (about 2 glasses of caffienated soda will do me in). In heart patients especially you shouldn't have it. |

Caffine doesn't give you "Real" energy. It's more of a state of mind than anything. Caffine in itself isn't "bad" either. It's unmonitored intake of Caffine. Someone like me who has low blood pressure, I have been told to drink caffine when I feel light headed to raise my blood pressure. You can see how this wouldn't be good for someone who is fighting high blood pressure. Plus Caffine makes your heart race, and is addicting. I also take caffine when I have a migraine. My doctor told me to do that as well as for my low blood pressure and that was when I was pregnant.
Be warned though, my cousin died from caffine before he was thirty. |

i took too much caffiene from drinking too many sodas on the bus because i can't sleep on the bus so when i got there i threw up and got the shakes real bad and that is caffiene poisioning and i always watch how many sodas i consume from now on |

its true that caffeine is addictive, drink too much of and you can build up a complete tolerance to it,
i myself drink coffee before going to sleep because it relaxes me and i enjoy thew taste.
lately i drink about 12 to 15 cups of espresso per day
